Morph, Goat, Reek, whatever.....

« on: Monday, 03 February, 2014, 01:00:07 PM »

G'day gang,

Well, the annual pilgrimage to Hanging Rock is back on again next Sunday Feb 9th. Cheesy

I'll be there weather permitting and anyone else who'd like to come along is certainly most welcome too.  Glenn and Dianne, you're excused but we still miss you guys heaps. Cry

Same times as usual, leaving Drouin at 6:15am, passing under the Stud Road overpass on the Princess Freeway (M1) at 7:00am for those who'd like to join the convoy there then under the Springvale Road overpass at 7:05am then it's straight up the freeway, through Melbourne via CityLink, onto the Calder and off to Hanging Rock.

All going well, should be at the top gate by 8:30am to meet up with the northerners (Stu?? Peter?? Heath?? Mez & Dragan??) so we can all park together once we're inside.

Should be a great day out as usual! Grin Cool Afro

Hard to get much done in this heat. 47 in my shed all weekend.

See you either just inside the gate if Im early, or inside the grounds if you are in first.

My phone no is the same, if you need to ring.

All the best Paul and all you other Vics.
Great weekend was had last year, ( temporary goat farmer for the duration, give all the girls my regards)
Hope it all goes as well this year with a good turnout.
It makes quite a statement when there's a number on display as a group
I'll not make this one

I also will not be able to help fly the flag this year. A good bloke near here has offered to give me a ride or even a Reak to drive but
I have had to turn that down to. Those that do go have a great day.

Guys,  It's Cancelled.

Below is the statement from their web page.  Sorry to dissapoint.

Hanging Rock Car Club Picnic postponed

The 27th annual Macedon Ranges Car Club Picnic scheduled for Hanging Rock this Sunday -
9th Feb 2014 has been postponed.

The Club and Council in consultation with regional emergency services and authorities have made the decision
based on the extreme weather conditions currently forecast for Sunday with potential extreme fire danger,
strong winds and storms.

Whilst the decision was made reluctantly public safety was the prime consideration with the very real risk of fire
impacting on the 10,000 plus crowd. The strong winds also had the potential to cause serious injury especially
as the nature of the event is to picnic at your car under the trees.

Hanging Rock will also be closed on Sunday in the interests of public safety.

The club will work with Council to attempt to reschedule the event over the next month or so.

Thanks for spotting that and letting us all know Brad, much appreciated. Smiley

I did say in my initial post that I was going "weather permitting" and I have been umm-ing and aah-ing about the forecast 40+ degrees for Sunday so at least their decision has helped make up my mind.

Will keep you all posted if they re-schedule it for sometime later on.

Hi All,

Picnic at Hanging Rock has been re-scheduled for 4th May 2014.

That'll give me enough time to get my car on the road in time Smiley

"MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU" as you get your car together for the event!

Will look forward to this, being cooler weather should be good.

Just a reminder that Picnic at hanging rock is on this Sunday. See you all there (well maybe not all, but at least some of you)!

Cheers,

Hi all,

Quick question for the day - to enter your car do you just rock up on the day and pay your $20 or do you need to book it beforehand?
