Certainly British. 1955 Triumph TR2. Personally I'd either go for the 1973 GT6 Mk 3 or the 1946 1800 Roadster.

I started to learn to drive in a Triumph 2000 Mk 2 when I was 8 years old.

That's interesting Cyc-baby,
                                            I drove a Triumph TR4 A while I was learning to drive so I also recognise the marque. I agree with you. Cantankerous old things...

If you need more info, I'd suggest contacting/joining a Triumph or British car club. There are several across the state, and will be more then delighted to share info on their cars. Sounds similar huh? I've met a few of the guys in the Triumph car club in Newcastle, seem like a nice enough bunch of guys. One was displaying a Spitfire that was built up from the remains of 3 different Spitfires, looked pretty good too.

Speaking of TR4's, my mate and I drove his around Australia back in '74. 13,00 MILES in 30 days! A lot of the roads were dirt, like across the Nullabor and some places up in the Pilbara had rarely seen such a car in that part of the world, especially with spoke wheels! Great fun but very dusty! Drove from Barry's Caves near the Queensland border to Newcastle Waters and only dropped below 100 MILES.p.h. once, for the right turn onto the Stuart Hwy. The Fun Police won't let you do that anymore.
    Ah! nostalgia!
