We all know about Condorman...

and Cannonball Run II..

https://youtu.be/4_JW5-IuUoM?si=KDOeBSp2rdo2teZh

and of course, Deathrace 2000..

but what about Winners & Sinners? It's a Jackie Chan (and Sammo Hung) movie from '83. I have posted it here before, but in a different topic.

Here we have one that's a little....different.

It's from a 'blaxploitation' movie from 1976 called Black Shampoo.

Quote
Blaxploitation is a film genre that emerged in the early 1970s, featuring Black actors in lead roles and often focusing on themes of empowerment against oppressive authority. These films, which include notable titles like "Shaft" and "Coffy," were initially aimed at Black urban audiences but gained broader appeal over time.

The original movie that was the basis of this exploitation was Shampoo from 1975. It featured Warren Beatty, Julie Christie, and Goldie Hawn. Carrie Fisher was also in it.

The actual car didn't make it into Black Shampoo, but it is in the deleted scenes. The video linked below, is not safe for work. Yet, it is up on YouTube. You have been warned.

There are a couple more movies, but I got to try and remember what they were! I'll post more when I find/remember them.

Just found one I didn't even know about!

Starship Eros.

If you couldn't tell from the name, it's an 'Adult Movie' from 1980. Car is in it for about 19 seconds from what I can tell. Found someone on YouTube who has removed all the adult content and who knows what, making a 67 minute movie into an 11 minute movie. It's very tacky, and cheesy. Only watch those 19 seconds. You can't blame me for the rest! lol

Hands up how many know we have an Italian cousin?

This one is in a move called;

L' insegnante al mare con tutta la classe. Translated, that's "The teacher at the seaside with the whole class" It's a slapstick comedy, about a father rewarding his son for a promotion, with a 'luxurious automobile', then find out his son didn't get the promotion...

The movie starts straight off with the car in question, a Puma GTV. So, hopefully, that's the 'luxurious automobile' in question.

For those who are not in the know about the Puma GTV, here's a link. Basically, they're more a one piece design, there being no bolt on panels other than the engine cover and the roof. The roof, instead of lifting like the ones we know, was hinged on it's leading edge. Like the Purvis Eureka, there was an evolution of the body shape, but more extensive than the Eureka. There were 4 models over the years, with only one of the 5th version made before having to close their doors due to government red tape.

The Puma site, mentions two more movies, one I only learned of a couple days ago just prior to finding this page on the Puma. The other one is new to me. I'll try and find videos on these as well over the next few days.

One of the other Italian movies is

Mani Di Vellto; or Velvet Hands. This is one I didn't know about before.

https://youtu.be/7b6FYuOUjyM?si=t7kP2SUB0KdxlGTR {no car shown in the trailer).

However, what is special about this one, is that the actual Puma GTV from the film was tracked down and restored. It was restored by the son of the man who designed and built them in Italy, and even had the head mechanic from the original business help with the rebuild. The finish on this car is beautiful.

https://youtu.be/uZlkoqDHR_4?si=vBHCd7lbhHN2XZpK Grab a cuppa and a couple of your favorite bickies, this is just under 55 minutes long.

Enjoy!
