OK Guys,
I wanted to get this out there before the end of year so that people can start booking holidays for 2018.
Yes Echuca is the venue.
The dates will be Friday 19th, Satuday 20th and Sunday 21st of October 2018.
I have the motel sorted. Reasonable rates, Circular design with the center being 2 BBQ areas with seating and tables. Pool of course too so bring your toggs.
Good chance it will be all us.
Technically it's in Moama so this is really another NSW event.
There will be a show and shine with a paddle steamer ride. Lots for Kids and families to do so bring the lot.
Of course there will be the National Holden Museum to visit and a car run.
For those with young kids there is an adventure playground only 100m from our motel.
We've got 10 acres to park on so there is not issue with trailers.
Echuca is basically a tourist town and a great gateway to many other locations so make a holiday of it.
I'll give more details closer to the event.
Hope to see you all there.

Thanks
Peter

Hey Peter, Great work! It will be a long year waiting for October. HOW MANY SLEEPS?   If you feel you need a few of us Victorians to get together at some time to help sort any thing out just name the date. I am sure we can get a car load to come up there for a week end.

Hi Morris,
That sounds great. You're welcome anytime. Got most of the weekend sussed. Couple of things left to work out. Then all the little things.
I've seen Stu and he's keen to come. We should get a great crowd.

Just finished an interview and photo shoot with the local newspaper for the AGM.
We should get some good interest and perhaps a magazine article about our display.
We have been given permission by the local council to use the historic Port area for our static display.
Thanks Paul for the info.

OK guys and gals.
I finally got to work and finished this form.
I would like to thank Phil, Paul, Darren, Ron and Mark for being my sounding boards.
Special thanks to Morris for the assist on our secret event.
We had shades of last year with our dinner club being sold out from underneath but all's good now.
The form makes it plain that this event is open to all interested in Eurekas not just members.
However think about becoming a member and joining the madness.
Now I need you guys to do your part and join us in Echuca.
Get those forms back asap.
I need final numbers by early September to secure the motel places.
I'm hoping we can fill the motel on our own.
Then is doesn't matter how much port we drink.
This is a great family location and we are encouraging you to bring the tribe.
Don't forget to pay your subs and get your discount.
Thanks

Hi all just had a query about the meet order form that I thought I'd better explain.
The form allows you to request your room for as many nights as you wish however we are only collecting payment for up to 2 nights.
If you want to stay more than 2 nights please indicate on the form and we will book the room for you.
Payment for the extra nights will be paid to the motel by you on checkout.
This is because of a very heavy discount we are being given for the 3rd night which I promised not to post online.
4 or more nights will go to the normal motel rates for the type of room booked.
When you book I will reply with the welcome email detailing the room rate for additional nights.
These rates are without breakfast for the additional nights but that can be added by talking to the motel manager.
So like I said on the form, feel free to call me if you need more detail.

I probably shouldn't have put the "Longer Stay" clause at the bottom of the description page.

Thanks

OK times a tickin. Huh?
We need your forms in asap BEFORE September! Shocked
I promised to have allocated most rooms to the motel the start of September so he could list it on Wotif to sell the rest.
If it fills you may have to find your own accommodation away from the crowd. Evil
There are always rumors of Midnight Oil wanting to do a concert now they know the Eurekas are in town.  Whistle

OK Boys and Girls just 19 sleeps until the AGM.
Here's a quick note for anyone who hasn't been to Echuca in Spring.
This is the hay fever capital of Australia.
If you are an allergy sufferer remember to bring some antihistamines.
Other than that I've found that copious amounts of beer seems to cure most allergies.
At least I don't remember sneezing.
PS. We have a bottleo across the road. Whistle

G'day gang,

At Sunday's AGM all committee positions will be vacated and new office bearers elected (or re-elected) so if you'd like to get on the committee to have your say in the running of the club then this is your chance.

Our current secretary Philip Brow, has indicated that he will not be re-nominating for the job so here's your opportunity to get involved if you feel so inclined.

Give it some thought and/or contact me if you'd like more info about it all.

Hi All,
Well our Annual Meet is over for another year. Thank god.
We all had a great time with Paul taking the breakdown award and Mark cleaning up most of the others.
PS. My car never left the shed so Paul still won.
I'll post pics soon.
As the out going organiser I give my sympathy to next year's organiser.

I have to thank the following for their assistance in making this weekend work so well.
Firstly Cathie for letting me do it.
Morris for organising our Saturday fun event which David and Helen easily won.
Gary and the crew at the Moama Sportslander Motor Inn who were awesome.
Mark and Hydeng for all their sponsorship as well as being a natural auctioneer.
St Anne's winery who supplied the $240 of port Mark and I drank Saturday night.
Autobarn Echuca and Matt who came and did our impartial car judging.
The Echuca Historical Vehicles Club who hosted us at their club room for a fantastic lunch.
Rotary Club of Echuca who allowed us onto their oval for the Cataract Driving.
Echuca Moama Tourism who supplied all of the information literature and maps meaning I didn't lose anyone for the weekend.
M&S Group Accounting who supplied so much of our show bags.
 Shannon's for supplying our trophies
And especially LINAK who are always so generous to us and without whom I'm sure we would make a loss.
Special thanks to my bother in law Harry for coming along to help with crowd control while the members did the tourist thing.

Finally I would like to thank the 39 1/2 members and families for driving all that way to make this a success.

PS.
I almost forgot.
A very special thank you to Morris and the O'Gradys for providing the awesome etched mirror and wine glasses.
