Hi guys, I tracked down who did the official dvd for the 2009 Classic Adelaide. And it includes the Purvis Eureka and it's unfortunate argument with the armco. Here's a copy of the email;

Just got the dvd today. It's about 45 minutes long, and has a few special features, so maybe 60 minutes total viewing. It has a segment on Michaels 'reek about 36 minutes in for 2 or 3 minutes, including the accident. Damage looks bad, but being fiberglass, it should be repairable. Maybe even has already been repaired.

Other than that, it's a good video of the event, though it tends to feature the main leaders from the 4 different classes.

What, no interest? I'd have thought there would be a couple of people interested in a dvd that has a reek being driven on the road in anger.

G'day Richard,

I didn't reply as after reading your first post about this I went and bought a copy for myself anyway.

It was worth it just for the few moments of Reek action and as the heckler in the background said of the accident, "Crapped your pants camera man!" since Michael hit the Armco right in front of the camera.

Pity that was the end of his race because it really looked good howling along as you say "in anger".

It was a great shame indeed. It's excellent to watch it storming along the blacktop, looked to be going great guns. But then there's a corner that he didn't manage to make, and Bang! The camera man needs new pants.

Still, the damage looked repairable, hell, it may even already been repaired. Hope so.

Might see Michael tonight. Will ask how the beast is.

That DVD will be a collectors item as the Classic Adelaide went broke.

Michael was gearing down for that corner but missed the gear ..... it was then too late for the brakes ................. Embarrassed

It sounds more shonky (not our own Shonko) than 'it wen't broke' to me, from what I've read in the press. But fro mwhen I was last following that news, there was another organizer who was interested in picking up the event.

So that's the cause of the accident, damn shame that. Will be great to find out if it's been repaired. Maybe let him know he has a following in the UK too.  Wink
