Title: Going Green
Post by: The Green Reek on Tuesday, 05 October, 2010, 04:07:17 AM
No, I'm not turning into a tree hugger but my reek has had a face change.

Lots of Mods for this year. Just getting her back on the road. I will try to get her up to Coffs. Either way I'll be there.
If anyone is interested, Its a Holden SS/SV colour called Atomic done it 2 pack. My first time
at a 2 pack so don't be too critical.

New interia too:

So, that's what my car would have looked like with 'Atomic' Green on black with black stripes. Pretty much what I was thinking og getting mine painted (minus one stripe).

No, mine's not painted, and not for a little while more anyway.

Looks great Peter.

 ;)

Guys I called in and checked Peter's green machine out on the weekend. It's one very smooth ride! Because Peter's an electronics wizard his car would fit in just as well at a NASA Expo as it will in Coff's. Great job Peter - especially with the paint - and all the gizmos! Slug.

OK, I don't post very often but as some of you recently were talking about cleaning wires under the dash and new consoles, I thought I'd show my way.
My old dash needed a refresh and while it all worked I thought I could do it better.
Firstly let me say - Thanks Ted. I got this new console from Ted a while ago and have been planning and preparing for a change ever since.

This is Teds handy work with some basic prep.

Holes cut and steel reinforced.

New instrument layout. Note: some old school gauges. Just in case.

A few wires to solder (about 400)

Now to tide my loom. Everything gets mounted on a board that slots up under the dash. Just 2 bolts are required to hold this.

Time for colour. Ever the shrinking violet, I chose black with a copper pearl.

Instruments mounted and loom complete. Note: The entire dash is now modular. It can be reasily removed from the car without any snip-snip.

I made a carbon fibre cover as well.

The completed dash.

Just something a little different.
Peter.

PS. See ya at Bathurst.

Hi Shonko
Here's the big image. I try on to put these on now, they just are too big on the screen.

Here are a couple more shots of interest.
Firstly a long shot showing the new console switches
(http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr166/eurekacarclub/Member%20Rides/reekgeek/20120701_185239.jpg)

Secondy an image of my new Shift Plate. My neighbour cad'ed this and got it laser cut in stainless.

Lastly. Whats that in the pocket? Keyless ignition and RFID reader.
