car looks great Phil here in South Aussie also has a white one and I think Shonko nicknames it the blank one or its name might even have come from Phil himself james Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: jim73vw on Wednesday, 28 January, 2009, 12:51:11 PM Cheers mate, it is actually a very pale blue - it looks white in bright light, and blue indoors, or on dark days (plenty of those here !)
It is a VW new beetle colour, Vapor Blue Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: WYKED1 on Wednesday, 28 January, 2009, 12:55:11 PM Sorry

But 99 red baloons i haven't heard that in ages who thought that up???? ??? ??? oh it's not a put down but it is 2009 Dave aka cruetoone Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: jim73vw on Wednesday, 28 January, 2009, 05:39:09 PM The car is called Nena - don't ask ! I just always name the cars as female (previously owned a Belinda, Vanessa and Finley !)
The song is sung by another Nena - so it seemed the logical choice ! Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: CyCo on Thursday, 29 January, 2009, 07:20:38 AM Haven't seen those photos, looks great!! ;D

Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: Old Sports on Wednesday, 04 February, 2009, 04:40:29 AM ;) A beautifully presented vehicle you have done well, I hope my sports or Nova clone looks half as good upon it's second rebuild in 28 years by the same owner. Do not know how to post photos of progress thus far sorry; your car is inspiring and if it was not over 40 Deg, C in the shade for the 10th day straight I would be in the shed working on my Old Girl. ( The Eureka OK, just to clarify who and what was involved.)
All the best; David. Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: cruetoone on Wednesday, 04 February, 2009, 07:50:58 AM Hey David ...

Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: Stuart on Saturday, 21 February, 2009, 10:23:40 PM Looks fantastic. I like the wing mirrors - the ones on my F4 are sadly past their "use by date" - do you mind telling me what you've used?
Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: jim73vw on Sunday, 22 February, 2009, 01:07:41 AM Cheers for the kind words.
Mirrors were a relatively cheap option from a kit car supplier here: http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/turbo-racing-mirrors-m11tb-755-p.asp They work well, in terms of adjustability, but look massively better for being colour coded. I also added blind spot stick on mirrors to help with the obvious blind spots, Hope this helps, Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: Philinsa on Sunday, 22 February, 2009, 01:30:34 AM You have a Kit Car SUPPLIER over there?????????????????/
Geeess.......... nice site. Do they have a shop I can go to or are they just "on-line" Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: Stuart on Sunday, 22 February, 2009, 08:33:04 AM Thanks sooooo much - I can't tell you how much time I've spent surfing the net (not to mention the money wasted buying mirrors that wouldn't fit or didn't suit the car) looking for replacement mirrors. This site looks great. I really appreciate your help.
Title: Re: Nova from over the pond Post by: jim73vw on Monday, 23 February, 2009, 09:38:10 PM They mainly deal online or over the phone - they do attend most kit car shows also with an amazing selection of parts.
They do dispatch worldwide but the online shop doesn't do international shipping costs - they will e-mail quotes though. As I understand it they do have a 'shop' you can visit, but it is best to phone ahead as not always open. |
