Title: Spare tyre Post by: Qldsports on Sunday, 06 January, 2013, 11:16:40 PM G'day Guys, I am wondering what is the best way to secure the spare tyre, mine is in the garage at the moment because I cant work out how to secure it under the bonnet. Do you guys now a way or should I just leave it in the garage?
Thanks Rod Qldsports Title: Re: Spare tyre Post by: Toxic-Rock on Monday, 07 January, 2013, 01:12:56 AM Hi Rod,
Most of us carry a spare tyre in a can. Not much help in the case of a blow-out, but far more practical, weight and space wise. ;D Regards Rock Title: Re: Spare tyre Post by: Qldsports on Monday, 07 January, 2013, 01:16:09 AM Thanks for that Rock I hadn't thought of that but it sure sounds the go & if I get a major blow out I will phone a friend lol.

Glad to see you bought Morrie's Reek. :) Like Rock said, most of us don't bother with a spare but if you must then here's how my new baby is setup. (http://users.tpg.com.au/pl30f4/eurekas/sparewheel.jpg) The seat belt ends are simply bolted to the fibreglass at the appropriate spot to pull through the holes in the wheel and Bob's your uncle mate. :D Just don't forget to carry extra wheel nuts or studs to suit the spare wheel if it is different from your road wheels :o as in my case with mag wheels on the car and a standard VW steel wheel as the spare.
