Title: Spare tyre
Post by: Qldsports on Sunday, 06 January, 2013, 11:16:40 PM
G'day Guys, I am wondering what is the best way to secure the spare tyre, mine is in the garage at the moment because I cant work out how to secure it under the bonnet. Do you guys now a way or should I just leave it in the garage?
Thanks
Rod

Hi Rod,
Most of us carry a spare tyre in a can. Not much help in the case of a blow-out, but far more practical, weight and space wise.  ;D

G'day Rod,

Glad to see you bought Morrie's Reek. :)

Like Rock said, most of us don't bother with a spare but if you must then here's how my new baby is setup.

The seat belt ends are simply bolted to the fibreglass at the appropriate spot to pull through the holes in the wheel and Bob's your uncle mate. :D

Just don't forget to carry extra wheel nuts or studs to suit the spare wheel if it is different from your road wheels :o as in my case with mag wheels on the car and a standard VW steel wheel as the spare.
