OK Vics, Its time we show the other states how to push the Eureka presence.
Shannons are holding their annual Aussie Classic Car Show at the Thunder Dome, Calder Park on Sunday 25th November.
Should be a great day out.
Mez, Stu, Denis sounds like a good cruise down the Calder!
I'll supply the cucumber sandwiches
Peter
PS. Other states are more than welcome.

Sounds like we've got a meet.
Pretty sure Pauls coming too.
I'll post more as we get closer for meeting.
I hope to be in a reek but I threw a fan blade yesterday so I'm off the road at the moment.
Hope thats all the damage!

Yep, I'll be there for sure.
I've just been granted a leave pass
Better make sure the morph suit has been washed so it's ready in time eh!
Do you have a replacement fan Peter 'cause I've got one or two spares sitting around here I could post up to you if you want.

Thanks Paul,
Unfortunately my first guess was more hopefull than practical.
I shut it down as soon as I heard the clank.
I had noticed low battery power at the time and hoped it was something stalling the alternator.
But alas it was the No 1 big end bearing.
Probably to many bathurst laps in second.
So unless I can get the parts and do the work in time I may have to convoy with my VE SS Ute.
PS Its for sale if anyone wants to step down from a Eureka to a 6 ltr 6 speed manual 09 Red Ute.
20" Chimey Black Chrome rims, 1000w Sub.
PM me if your in the market.

Hi Stu,
Ive got it listed on carsales
http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/holden-ute-2009-13589347
But we can haggle if your interested.
Parts are ordered and hopefully the reek will be good for the show.
Paul, I think I'll change the box over while its in bits. Any tips? or just undo everything and let gravity do the work.

Easy peasy Peter, just do like I did in 2003 as below; kick the mother-in-law out of her carport for the long weekend and rip into it!!
Seriously though, the only annoying bit with a swingaxle is that you have to remove the axles with it which means the rear suspension needs to be undone and has to be realigned and the brakes have to either come apart or get removed from the axles like I did which might let some gear oil out the ends of the axle tubes (horrible stinkin' stuff). Good time to adjust the height of your rear suspension though!
I've changed Dweeby's swingaxle tranny twice now and the second time it only took me 1 night and the following day by myself.
Good luck,
PP.

Point taken - Drain the oil first.
Thanks

I notice this is on the same day as "Day of the Volkswagon" at Yarra Glen in Victoria.
I wonder which event might be better... just because of the VW Influence etc and the stalls etc on display.
I don't know what "esteem" the VW Club of Victoria put their VW Chassis'd cousins in... however I thought I'd mention it.
