G'day gang,

HMAS Cerberus is holding an open day to the public featuring all sorts of stuff including a display by The Purvis Eureka Car Club of Australia Grin

It is on Sunday October the 23rd (the weekend before our National Meet in Mildura) and more details will be posted here as they come to hand so stay tuned folks.

Here's a pic from when we had a great day out at the 2007 event. Cool

Aaaah yes.
HMAS Cerberus. Hard-won rugby games and massive bar room brawls afterward. Those were the days. As a young Army lad I "stowed away" often at night in the ladies lines...

Hi Paul
I wanted to take my car for a run before going to Mildura so count me in. This dose mean washing the car twice in a week, it might shrink!

I, of course, will be there. I have to be, that's how I get 31 Oct off, for a nice long weekend. Simon are you sure it was the ladies lines? It was dark I presume? Grin

Hey!

Due to it being the last weekend to sort out nasties with the reek (lots of new bits), if the reek is ready, we are there with bells on.

We had an awesome time at the last gathering there, and it would be good to take the reek out for a long drive before the meet. He has to wash 3 years of dust off it which could take some time.....

Fingers and toes are crossed.

Good to hear from you Mez
JAMES seems to think plastic cars dont shrink when they are washed but it depends on how hot the water is! Undecided

I've just replaced my throttle cable & fitted a Ceramic Heater for Demister/Heating so there's a good chance I'll be there.

Is there any "Western" Melbourne/Geelong based Reekers interested in Catching  the Ferry from Queenscliff?

I think it would be fairly expensive... at least $80-100 Each Way...

Would be worth checking out there website I think...

Eureka is all fixed... Throttle Cable replacement has made a massive difference to the car... Secondaries on Carby are now opening and it goes like a Rotary powered rocket Smiley
Idle is probably a bit high at 1500rpm... but it's making a nice Rotary style "Bap,Bap,Bap" noise so I'm not complaining...

Let me know details as I'm keen for the run...

Hi all,

Still not sure what time to show up at the main gate, but the base is open to the public from 10 to 4. I think 0900 would be fine. When I hear more, I will let you know.

G'day Rock,

What if we meet up beforehand so we can all cruise in together like we did last time? Smiley

Maybe we could meet up at your place or somewhere easily accessable if your place in not convenient.  That might make it a bit easier for those of us who don't really know where to go. Tongue
