Indeed. And when you look at the time line (the Holden Hurricane) was built and shown before the first Nova was built), you got to wonder whether the designers had that in mind when they started putting pen to paper. Ostensibly they chose the 'clamshell' design as it was easier than getting normal doors on a kit car to work.

Some great photos of it here, along with the GTR-X

Awesome, so glad it was restored and no longer abused. I still think that Holden should produce the Hurricane and the GTR-X, even if in limited numbers. Wish I could have seen it in the flesh.

Hi Cyco
Just to help you dream about the Hurricane I have an original detail sheet that was handed out when I saw the car on display as it was taken around the country. You want to see the car? Just between you and me, I touched it along with 5 million other rev heads. I did wash my hand - all those germs  Grin  I took it to the car show we went to last sunday and a young bloke claimed his brother worked on the restoration, he nearly wet himself over it. I will bring it to Mildura for all to see. 2 sleeps and we are on the road.

See you all there Morris.

There is an article in the current holden newsletter "go torque" about the rebuild. I will try to put up some pics but otherwise you should be able to grab a copy at your local dealership.
