Can anyone tell me approx how many Eurekas are registered and on the road in NSW?

Thanks in advance....

I'm considering buying one but from what I understand I really need to buy one that already has NSW rego plus an engineers report.

Welcome Tom!

Those numbers sound about right. Here in NSW, it's best if you can buy one with NSW rego, engineers report is a bonus in case anything is questioned. But as long as it's been engineered and rego'ed, as long as no further mods are done, I'd imagine you'd be ok.

One of the reasons I bought mine at the price it was going for (really too much considering the shape it was in), was that it was local (very local), and it was rego'ed. It was about to expire, but I said I'd only pass it if he got a pink slip for it. And it's been registered ever since (though last year was a close call!!).

Hi Cyco,

What are the main issues that cause problems when renewing the rego?

Issues with rego depend on the car and how particular the mechanic is. If the car has had extensive mods, it may prompt the mechanic to take a closer look. That said, mine came close not to passing last year after the loom had been replaced and the Linak actuators installed. It was in better condition than the previous year. But last year the same mechanic failed it. We think he may have had a visit from the RTA inspectors and told to tighten up his game.

BTW, I'm on the Central Coast.

Hi Tom,
You're very welcome to visit my workshop and peruse my reek during it's build all you want. I'm there most working hours. I live close enough to my workshop that an after hours visit is possible as well. Give me a call on 0417 997 908 to arrange a time.
