Morph, Goat, Reek, whatever.....

« on: Saturday, 18 June, 2016, 07:32:19 AM »

G'day gang,

Last weekend I had the Reek below basically thrown at me so how could I refuse Grin so I borrowed Morris and his magnificent trailer (which is still for sale by the way) and headed off to Oakleigh South and picked it up.

It's a Sports and is the Motor Manual Magazine's Project Eureka car from back in 1976 which was going to be, as far as Motor Manual Magazine were concerned, the forerunner to the PL30 although the project stalled due to some dodgy paint amongst other things.  It is complete except for the seats and it has a few very different things about it like lowered footwells, custom popup headlights and a different rear window setup and the boss has given me permission to restore it and complete it to how Motor Manual Magazine intended it to finish up.  Time will tell Whistle

Here's the article on it from May 1976;

What a great idea you have Paul, great piece of history. Looking forward to seeing the journey from ugly duckling to beautiful finished Reek.
