Ah makin progress now, after going backward. It was the only thing going backward as the Gear box turns out to be stuffed, (it's probably repairable though).

Pulled out the engine and bag of gears, fitted new one now. Just got to do the seals & bleed the bl****y brakes again, fit the engine.

Then its the carpet, window box & seats.

OOOh

speaking of seats, just got back from the upholsterer with my seats, pic attached ...........

Well the Gearbox is now fully IN  ;D
Its not back on four wheels yet, maybe tomorrow.
Gee's she's close.
Gears work Luvly
Still got the console to finish off, fit the Carpet, (fix the high/low beam situation, they were working, now they are not), find a reverse light and fit it, paint the bonnet & rear louver & restore the Graphics, final fit the side skirts, fit the new seats, rear window box.

Actually, I might just take it for a spin in the next few days just to see if there is anything else that needs a tweek, then again, do I realy want to know. :-\

Will keep yooooos posted

:) :)  Looking good there Phil, I do not know if the over-priced speed shop's still have those reflective colour changing letters that spell EUREKA the medium size fit's perfectly across the upper section of those dark covers.
If I knew how to scan save and e-mail several photos you would see that it works. I can scan print and post photos mybe even e-mail but reflective capital letter EUREKA looks good at the top of both dark headlight covers.
Youre mate, Dave from the Riverland.

Sorry Darran that should be 265 on the rear.

Had a few glitches over the past few months, but took it around the block yesterday and went well.
So took it out for a long run today, (about 140km round trip). BOY she moves and went very well.
No rattles or bangs and nothing fell off either. ;D

Ah well its back in the shed tomorrow for more tweeking.

60's or 50's x14 ?
i have 235/60/14 on 8" rim on the rear and 225/60/14 7" rims on the front i now have 2 more 8's so i'm thinking of putting the 235's on the front and 245's or larger on the rear that's if i can get some.if not i'll go with 235's all round.

Philinsa - Those wheels look awesome!  Nice meaty look.  Do you know what kind of offset those rear rims have (love how they are flush with the body work)?

redreek - what size rubber did you end up running with?  Any photos?

I've currently got 185 up front with 225 on the back (both on 14x8 rims) but plan on going to something a bit more manly :)

Do you know the widest we can go according to the "1.3 times the widest option available to that type back in it day"?  Does that apply to the rim or the rubber?  What if I wanted taller wheels?  I know it would change my final drive ratio (thus speedo but I'm going for a complete build so not an issue) but are there any other issues?  And why is it that Eureka's seem to have their tails in the air?  Would there be any adverse effects if I were to lower the rear end to clean it up a little?  Too many questions? :)

I'm trying to use this image as inspiration.  I know that there would be some serious tyre/fibreglass issues but it does look pretty cool.

Well it's been a while since typing about this project.
It's been off the road since i smashed the screen back in Feb this year. :'(
Last few month have stripped it and done a re-spray after grinding out the cracks that appeared much later.
Had vinyl graphics on it at first, but they were not holding up so the flag is now painted on.
With the damage from the screen, the cracks & the graphics, is was needing a refurb and tweek.

Fitted new mirrors that are internally adjustable from an Alpha.
Just been giving her a buff. The front right guard came up well ;D 8)

Pics for Cyco

Alpha Romeo

Guess I should do a close-up shot of them.
I like em

Had to do a bit of fibreglass work to get them to sit level

Yeh that'd be good if you get a chance - I'm still in the process of deciding which mirrors to use on mine.   It's always interesting to see how people have shaped the A-pillar to fit an alternative set of mirrors too.

Wow, that side panel fits great. And nice to see the flag has now been painted on, rather than a sticker.  ;)

Looks better in the flesh.
Probably not everyone's cupa tea but s**t, I like em

and one of the star on the drivers side. Sorry about the colour. It is actually white.
I've increased the gap between the star & the cross this time. it makes it more distinguishable.
