Not sure what my car is?  ???
Has 4 wheels (not including the steering wheel) no spare either, just an aerosol can with goo in it!
Engine goes vrrooom vrrooom. Sucks lots of petrol, especially when you put your right foot flat to the floor! It also leaves a cloud of blackish smoke behind you when you doo this too. Also you get a Wheeeeish sound from the big round spinning thingo stuck to the top of the engine.
Apart from that, I cant understand why so many people stare at me as I go by, must be my goofy looks or something? Perhaps I should get a different hat to wear when driving my car, maybe people wont stare so much then. ::)
My car is red, which I think is a good colour for safety reasons, fire trucks are red, and they put out fires, which is a good thing, so to have the same colour as a fire truck doesnt mean I put out fires though.
I enjoy driving my car, especially with the airconditioner on flat out, although when I do this, the sun comes in through the roof, which is kinda the opposite to the airconditioner working. 8)
Gee dont we drive some strange cars :D :-*

Stu ;)

I have myself what I believe to be a PL30.. I'm in WA, the car is rego'd but currently undergoing a complete makeover so its stripped down at the moment. I'll post pics for the new forum when I get some time. It's a beetle engine worked to 2L with dual 40mm Solex carbs and numerous other engine mods all detailed on the receipts the previous owner collected over the last 25 odd years.. so yeah, I have a very detailed history of her. She is LOUD on the road and I love it  ;D

I have a Sports that has been on the road for just on twelve months. Standard VW motor. Bought it at Bendigo Swap Meet and spent three years doing it up. It's a roughy but the intention was to do it all myself when time permitted, including my first paint job.

Does joining the club open the possibility of Club Rego? I know that with 7 rego's to pay now the annual cost is getting ridiculous for me.

I can put an old 750 Honda bike on club plates for about $110 pa as opposed to about $500 otherwise. Any fool knows you can't drive everything in the shed at once but I'm not holding my breath for any changes in the bureaucacy. Slug

G'day Dennis,

The Club started to go down this path a few years ago but the chap who was the driving it quit the club  :( and it died before it even got going.  :'(

We might have to start looking into it again if there is enough interest from members and committee members as it takes a few dedicated committee people to be willing put themselves up for it although this wasn't a problem last time.  ;D

Bear in mind that if should it get up it would only apply to the State that it is lodged with, ie. we were getting it up in Victoria last time so only Victorian vehicles would have been able to take advantage of it (which would be perfectly fine by you I'd reckon  ;)).  So if other States wanted to get on board then we would have to investigate how to do it in those states as well.

I believe it brought the Victorian rego cost down from $500 plus to under $200 from memory but you would then be subject to all the normal limited usage restrictions of club rego of course.  :P

Still worth looking into again I reckon.  :)

PP.

Hi Guys,
Hope I qualify as a Eureka owner even if it is only 1/2 size, won't need a plaque for it as it has moved for quite some time. Kabota 5 H.P motor and trolley wheels, 6" steering wheel and plastic school chair seat. Since joining this discussion group last year I have just put the 1/2 size reek to bed and not woried about doing anything with it.

Yes, they were on the old forum. I have met them and the previous owner they purchased the vehicle from. I had all the guages from the dash from between ownership and gave the back to them. I can't for the life of me remember their names, they will come to me.

I remember the owner of the one in Perth being on the old forum, but not the Kiwi with the black one.

I have a red F4 kit first sold in 1996.

I'm the third owner and it is still in the process of being built. I have all the original paperwork from when it was purchased (some docs refer to it as an XCL) and a lot of the small parts are still in the original packaging with prices.

I had photos and info up on the old nineMSN forum.

I was intending to join ECCA but now you have changed your name to PECCA I'm not sure I want to be part of a group who's acranym refers to male genitalia...  :o ... couldn't see myself wearing that Tshirt.

Jateureka

I would like to point out the club's name is Purvis Eureka Car Club of Australia and not any shortened version of that name.
We can not control people who use the word pecca and it's reference
The club has not and will never have a shirt made with that word on it
I would like to offer you to please reconsider your thoughts of joining this great club and attend the National Meet in Coffs Harbour this year.
This site is open to all people members or not to post and we welcome feedback and also ask for any members to please put up your hand and become a committee member such as I and many others have done (its not for the money) but for the future of these cars and for the friendship I personally have found since joining this club and I have not regretted one moment of it.
So as I have said please reconsider your joining of this club and rest assured we are a family club who welcome everyone who cares about these cars.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

NOwhere in the documentation supplied with my kit is it refered to as a Purvis Eureka.

I am dissapointed that the club changed its name as it seems to deminish the efforts made by later owners of the company, but I will probably still join the Purvis Eureka Car Club of Australia (PECCoA) anyway.  ;)

You are more than welcome to join and hope you come to Coffs Harbour
We are not under any circumstances belittling the owners of the marque in any way and would welcome
Colleen Long if she chose to join
if you check we currently have Paul Nelson the current owner of the marque as a member
thankyou for the chance to clear up the previous thoughts you may have had

Hi fellas,

The reek on the website you posted Dave belongs to Allan who is from WA. His handle on MSN was Raceinvader if any of you remember.

His reek is coming along very nicely and is being wired up at the moment, I will try to get some photo's of it up on the photobucket site.

Just a point of clarification also on the Club's name change, Purvis Eureka refers to the make and model. Most of us have "Purvis Coupe" on our registration sticker, it doesn't even say Eureka anywhere  ???

The Lamborghini family ceased their ties to the car company of the same name in 1974 but as we know well, it's still called a Lamborghini and it in no way dishonours or diminishes the effort of the magnificent men & women who still design and make that beautiful car, just the same as our Purvis Eureka after Allan moved on.

I also like the acronym PECCoA as well, much more tasteful  ;D

P.S. I have a Sports sitting there gathering dust, a 2 year build thats taking more time that Simons..  :'(

I have a 74 sports Model, Red, and black with dragon on the bonnet registered  and on the road.
Original VW 1800 engine and gear box.
Apparently the sixth one off the production line, so I was told by someone that maintained, he worked on my car.
